Can I access WestClip on the Internet?
Yes! WestClip is available for all Westlaw platforms, including westlaw.com®, WestMate® 7.2 and later and WestMate 6.3 and later. The functionality of WestClip is identical in each platform, although the look and feel of the service is slightly different to take advantage of each platform's unique functionality.
How do I access WestClip on Westlaw?
- Once you have accessed Westlaw, there are two primary methods available to access the WestClip service: from the Welcome to Westlaw window and from a search result.
- From the Welcome to Westlaw window, you can choose to view the WestClip Directory. How you make this choice depends on the method you used to access Westlaw (see below for platform-specific illustrations). From the WestClip Directory, you can create new WestClip entries or edit, delete or run existing entries.
- From a search result, you can easily save the current query to WestClip. Then by selecting a frequency, format and destination for your results, you can set the query to run automatically in WestClip. This is particularly helpful if you run the same query periodically to monitor new documents added to the database. WestClip automates this task and saves valuable research time. How you save your query to WestClip depends on the method you used to access Westlaw (see below for platform-specific illustrations).
